DAY 01. Riohacha, Gabriel García Márquez’s City
Arrival at the Almirante Padilla International Airport of Riohacha, Touristic and Cultural District, Suchiimma, in the native language (village of the river), Capital of the department of La Guajira, where our delegates will be waiting to welcome you and provide relevant information about your trip. Transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Accommodation in Riohacha (Dinner not included)

DAY 02. Riohacha-URIBIA– PUNTA GALLINAS (La Guajira is desert, trade winds, beach, sea.)
7:00 a.m., departure for Uribia known as the Indigenous Capital of Colombia, there we will visit Plaza Colombia, where all the administrative and political activity of the municipality is concentrated. In this town, it is possible to observe how the Wayuu man and woman interact in commercial activity in a place where Wayuu customs intersect with the Arijunas (non-Wayuu). We continue our journey towards the high Guajira through trails and desert plains, allowing us to observe the unique landscapes of Bahía de Portete and Bahía Honda. Halfway through after covering kilometers and kilometers of dusty trails, we arrive at the Ranchería Pusheo or Kan kan. A place located in Bahía Honda. 1:00 p.m. Lunch at Bahía Honda:
This pause is determined to rest and enjoy a typical lunch, prepared by Wayuu women, who offer varied options. From Bahía Honda, we take the road again to approach distant plateaus that are visible on the horizon. Among sand dunes, stones, mountain ranges, cardon cacti, and trupillo trees, little by little, the dunes of Taroa come into view. 4:00 p.m., Visit to the beautiful dunes and beaches of Taroa. The beach and the sea at your feet, the vastness of the desert and the Caribbean Sea make it an amazing place to enjoy. The Punta Gallinas lighthouse is cardinal, the first portion of Colombian continental territory is an ideal place to watch a spectacular sunset. 5:30 p.m. Arrival at the Lodge: The rancherías have made possible the lodge organization (typical constructions) to serve tourists. Check-in at the Wayuu Inn. (After dinner, you can enjoy an atmosphere of calm and sublime peace, where facing the Bay, you will find the most beautiful and starry sky, here you can disconnect from the real world and enter a world of total fantasy accompanied by shooting stars and thousands of constellations).

DAY 03. Little Bay – Bahía Honda and Cape of La Vela
Dawn in the northernmost part of South America… When you open your eyes…it’s easy to feel like you’re in a place designed to dream. Feel the sea, feel how the new rays of the sun warm the blood and the soft breeze caresses the skin, it allows you to define that you are in a magical place. 7:00 a.m. Breakfast in Punta Gallinas. 8:00 a.m. We will continue our journey towards Cape La Vela, facing an unpaved road and using trails that allow us to experience a rally-type journey aboard 4×4 trucks. The journey includes a stop in the desert and the constant passing through sand dunes that are lost on the horizon and die in the sea, dotted with fishermen’s rancherías. The landscape simply invites appreciation and, for lovers of images, it offers all the guarantees to take spectacular photographs. 1:00 p.m. Arrival at Cape La Vela and everything will be ready to serve the flavors of this place in a typical lunch. (Shrimp or Fish Rice, Meat, Chicken, accompanied by Rice, salad, patacones, and a drink) 4:00 p.m. Visit to the Ojo de Agua Beaches, where we will enjoy the most exotic desert landscapes that mix with the vastness of the Caribbean Sea. A contrast of colors is usually offered with and after sunset in Cape La Vela. 6:00 p.m. Back to the Inn everything will be ready again to serve the flavors of this place in a typical dinner. Night falls and the stars come out to tell unusual stories, while shooting stars are lost in the sea or the desert. Dinner and accommodation in Wayuu Ranchería Utta or Apalanchiis.

DAY 04 – Cape La Vela – Manaure Salt Flats – Riohacha.
Recharge your energy at Jepira, sacred place of the Wayuu, – Kaimaichi Hill 7:00 a.m., breakfast at the ranchería. 8:00 a.m., visit to Rainbow Point. This is a place with strong winds, which exert pressure on the sea producing a large swell that hits the coastline (cliffs) with force, thus generating water lifting in the environment, which, when crossed by the bright sun, allows us to experience a horizon of this optical and meteorological phenomenon (Rainbow). 9:00 a.m. Visit to Sugar Loaf Hill it is necessary to get ready to revitalize at Jepira (sacred place Wayuu). Undertake a hike to the top of Kaimaichi or Sugar Loaf Hill. According to Wayuu mythology, this is the place where the souls of Wayuu men and women arrive after death to meet “Mareiwa” (the Creator God). Here there is also access to a sea bath and the enjoyment of the golden sand beaches located at the base of Sugar Loaf Hill.

11:00 a.m. We will continue our journey to the Manaure Marine Salt Flats descending from the Alta Guajira to the Media Guajira is to continue witnessing violent waves, beaches of white sand, placid bays, and all types of terrain offered by the immense desert, from loose sand like talcum powder, large and small stones, streams, lagoons, and huge salt flats where the horizon is lost. Once in Manaure, a tour of the Ponds (salt harvest areas) is possible to observe the Wayuu indigenous people in their daily tasks in the production process of marine salt in the artisanal ponds. After lunch, we will move to the Walapuinaje community where we will have a magical encounter with our Wayuu ethnicity; We start with a talk that will transport us to the fantastic and mystical world of Wayúu culture, presentation of typical dances, tasting of one of their typical dishes “El Frichi” Fried Goat; tour of the ranchería where they live; exhibition and sale of handicrafts, where we will have the opportunity to see how they make their handicrafts.
